Mohinder was recognized as one of the premier triple jumpers in the world during his career at Cal Poly from 1968-71. He won five national championships , and set five NCAA meet records. Mohinder won the 1971 title ranking as a champion alongside 12 other Olympians. His jump in 1971 at the West Coast Relays was the second longest jump ever on American soil. . Mohinder
competed for India and lead the Indian contingent at the 1972 Olympic Games at Munich. His achievements for India include a Gold and Bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games, three Gold and one Silver medal at the Asian Games and Asian Athletic Championships and a Silver medal that he won in the Pre-Olympic Athletic Championships in 1971 at Munich which was the only medal won for Asia. He won 52 major international Invitational competetions in America, Canada and Europe establishing 19 meet records including Fresno Relays, Kennedy Games, Portland , Vancouver, San Jose,Frankfort, Bonn,Barcelona, Siena, and Edinburgh Invitationals. Mohinder was inducted at "Cal Poly Athletic Hall Of Fame " in 1993.Mohinder received the highest award in sports, the "Arjuna Award" from the President of India in 1970 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame of India. Mohinder founded Mohinder Sports Inc. in 1976. Mohinder American Hockey Sticks made the top ranking in 1980,s. He was the first to introduce 100% composite stick early 90,s. And now he designed the Titanium Hockey Stick very popular in USA.
As his customer base grew, he expanded into other sports. In the mid 1980's he formed a partnership with Anaconda Sports in Kingston, New York. Their knowledge of the business with Mohinder's knowledge in designing and manufacturing formed the basis of what would become an acclaimed American sporting goods company. Together Mohinder and John Stote desined and introduced Mohinder City Rock basketbals ealy 90's. The Mohinder basketball line soon became the choice of basketball coaches throughout the country. With the help of basketball coaches such as Mike Deane of Siena, J.D. Barnett of Tulsa, Kevin O'Niell of Marquette, and Ron Abeggien of the University of Alaska, updated improvements have been made on the leather and ball, the Mohinder line became the choice of a growing number of coaches across the country. The newest addition is their composite basketball.
